What to Look For in a Photo
Sharp focus on the subject. Blurry photos make muddy canvases. The eyes (for portraits and pets) need to be in clear focus.
Soft, even lighting. Golden hour, window light, overcast outdoors. Harsh midday sun creates strong shadows that the palette struggles to reproduce.
A simple, uncluttered background. Plain walls, sky, sand, grass. The cleaner the background, the more the subject pops.
A strong, recognisable subject. One pet, one person, one building. Group shots and busy scenes lose detail in conversion.
No filters or heavy edits. Filters distort the colour palette. Upload the original where possible.
